Baby wraps and slings must be used under the exact conditions provided in the instructions for use, i.e. in compliance with the baby's physiology and in accordance with the safety conditions.
What to watch out for
The wrap or ring sling constitutes one or even several additional layers of fabric on your child. Consider this in how you dress the child. Remember to protect the extremities not covered by the wrap from the sun and the cold. Remember to keep your child hydrated. Your baby's weight, your movements and your child's movements can disturb your balance. Pay particular attention to the increased risk of the wrap or ring sling falling when it moves and the position of the wrap or ring sling is changed. Be careful when leaning forward, sideways, or backwards, and remember to support the child's head with your hand. Pay attention to your surroundings and the objects within reach. Never leave your child alone with the wrap or ring sling. These should be stored away from children when not in use.
How to tie your wrap or ring sling
Before each use, always check that your wrap or ring sling is not damaged or shows signs of wear. If in doubt, do not hesitate to contact us. Always keep one hand under your child's bottom until the knotting or tightening is complete. Create a good seat by slipping the fabric of the wrap or ring sling under your child's buttocks, from the hollow of one knee to the other. Your tie must always be finalized with two simple knots. Your sling should be tight enough that you don't feel the need to support your child with your hand when the knotting is complete. If you are new to babywearing, we strongly advise you to see a certified educator for a training session. It will help to learn the moves and techniques to carry your baby with ease, safely and comfortably.
Your child should be placed facing you, head in the crook of your shoulder, and in a squatting position (child's spine rolled up and knees higher than the buttocks). The baby's airways must be clear at all times.
Make sure the child's nose and mouth aren't covered by the fabric and that you can fit two fingers between the child's chin and chest. Head and spine should be aligned. If your child does not know how to sit on its own or does not hold its head up, check that the wrap or the ring sling goes up to the base of its neck to provide your child with all the necessary support. Do not force the natural spacing of its legs. Adjust the fabric of the wrap or ring sling snugly on your baby by tightening strand by strand to ensure even support over its entire back.
Care
Your wrap or ring sling should be washed before use. This tightens the fibers and makes them swell so that they set in their final place. This step is essential both for the safety of your little one and to avoid damaging your product.
Immerse it in warm, slightly soapy water and stir gently. Rinse with clean water then wring out by rolling your wrap or ring sling between two towels. Dry it flat and in the shade. We advise you to use a detergent without optical brighteners and as natural as possible. Do not use fabric softener or bleach which could damage your product.
Some wraps and ring slings can be machine washed. If in doubt, refer to the product label.
